Card - Waratah
Author(s): Bell Art Australia
The Waratah is one of Australia's nine magnificent floral emblems. The generic name Telopea is derived from the Greek word telopos meaning ‘seen from afar.’ Earlier settlers adopted the Aboriginal name Waratah for this handsome plant, which was officially proclaimed the floral emblem of New South Wales in 1962.
